Features of XDR Mud Trailer
- The Mud Trailer is SIL rated.
- Operating Floor and Tank Platform
- The operating floor is level with easy access from a spring assisted set of steps.
- The stand-up PLC Screen control panel is located on the operating floor and under cover of the operating floor roof.
- The permanent set of stairs provides access to the top of the water tank.
- The tank floor is level and the height of the hand rails and venturi hopper and other equipment on the tank floor is permanently mounted as all are under 4.3 metres above ground thus reducing set-up time.
- The tank floor is level and the height of the hand rails and venturi hopper and other equipment on the tank floor is permanently mounted as all are under 4.3 metres above ground thus reducing set-up time.
- Pallet storage for chemicals is provided at the end of the pill tank with telehandler access to the storage area from both sides and the end of the tank.
- This system of access serves to increase the flexibility of set up, to cater for the diversity of site configurations and the required access to move pallets of chemicals to the top of the tank for mixing. The access points are designed for a standard pallet (1200mm x 1200mm), with a maximum contents mass of 1,500Kg.
- Hydraulics System
- The hydraulics are powered by the battery Hydraulic Power Unit.
- Hydraulically operated equipment includes:
-
i. Six stabiliser jacks,
ii. Two work platforms, one each side of the operating floor, and
iii. One hydraulically operated light tower. - The hydraulic valves operating this equipment are positioned to give the operator vision of the equipment being operated to enhance safety and not require a spotter.
- Tank Design
- The tank base and walls are curved to prevent settlement of material into tank internal edges.
- Two (2) stirrers and three (3) mud guns are located to enhance mixing and prevent solids settlement thereby reducing tank cleaning activities.
- Mud Trailers have a pill tank capacity of 60 bbl and a main tank capacity of 140 bbl. The total tank capacity is 200 bbl. The tank includes a weir at the top of the dividing wall between the main and pill tanks; this serves to minimise the chance of mud spillage and ground contamination on site by diverting overflow to the other tank.
- Mud Pump System and Control
- The Mud Trailer is equipped with one Jereh 600S 4” mud pump driven by a CAT C15 engine through a 4700 Allison transmission and Cardan shaft.
- The mud pump system features an incorporated lubrication circuit, with a lube tank, gear pump (driven from the Allison transmission) and filter.
- The flow rate is selected by manual gear selection and the desired flow rate achieved through the HMI (Human Machine Interface). The Cat C15 engine and Allison gear box are controlled by the control panel PLC.
- Integration with all XDR Rigs
- The mud trailer pumping operation can be controlled from the rig and shut down from the rig.
