XDR’s Commitment to Sustainability

At XDR we are dedicated to driving sustainable practices in our operations and contributing
to Queensland’s vision of a cleaner, greener future. Our sustainability goals are not just
aspirations; they are integral to our business strategy, supporting revenue generation,
enhancing productivity, and managing risks in an ever-changing environmental landscape.

Alignment with Queensland’s Sustainability Initiatives

We proudly align our sustainability efforts with Queensland’s ambitious environmental
targets and initiatives

  • Queensland’s Climate Action Targets

We support the state’s goal of achieving 50% renewable energy by 2030 and zero net emissions by 2050. Our transition from diesel to electric motors for our workover rigs is a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to these targets.

  • Queensland’s Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy

We are committed to the principles of a circular economy, focusing on waste avoidance, reuse, and recycling in our operations.

  • Waste Program

We actively engage in waste reduction program, leveraging our resources, reduce our resource use, manage carbon emissions, and reduce waste, water, and energy consumption

Our Sustainability Goals and Actions

Energy Efficiency and Emissions Reduction

Goal

Reduce our overall energy consumption by 25% and carbon emissions by 35% within
the next 3 years.

Actions

Transition from diesel to electric motors for our workover rigs, targeting a 90%
reduction in CO2 emissions from our workover rigs that we manufacture for our
customers.

Implement energy management systems to optimise energy use and identify further
efficiency opportunities.

Implement energy efficient technologies and evaluate the use of solar PV panels and
batteries for our Redbank facility.

Participate in Queensland’s renewable energy initiatives to support the state’s 50%
renewable energy target by 2030.

Waste Reduction and Circular Economy

Goal

Achieve a 40% reduction in waste generation and increase our recycling.

Actions
Implement comprehensive recycling program our workshop.

Collaborate with suppliers to reduce packaging waste and increase the use of
recyclable materials.

Explore opportunities for repurposing and recycling decommissioned diesel motors
and other equipment.

Sustainable Supply Chain

Goal

Ensure 75% of our suppliers meet our sustainability criteria by 2026
Actions

Develop and implement a sustainable procurement policy.

Provide support and resources to help suppliers improve their sustainability
performance.

Water Conservation

Goal

Reduce water consumption at our workshop.

Actions

Implement water-efficient technologies and processes.

Harvest rainwater for non-potable uses in our facilities.

Participate in Brisbane City Council’s WaterSmart Strategy initiatives

Spotlight: Diesel to Electric Motor Transition Project

Our flagship sustainability initiative is the transition from diesel to electric motors across our
operations. This project exemplifies our commitment to environmental stewardship and
aligns perfectly with Queensland’s sustainability goals.

Environmental Benefits

Emissions Reduction

By switching to electric motors, we expect to achieve a 70%
reduction in CO2 emissions from our machinery operations

Air Quality Improvement

Elimination of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate
matter emissions, contributing to cleaner air in our facilities and surrounding
communities

Noise Reduction

Significant decrease in operational noise, improving the working
environment for our employees and reducing noise pollution in surrounding areas

Energy Efficiency

Electric motors convert a higher percentage of energy into usable
power, reducing energy waste and operational costs

Monitoring and Reporting

We are committed to transparency in our sustainability
journey. We will provide updates on our website about the progress of this project.

Join Us in Our Sustainability Journey

We believe that sustainability is a collaborative effort. We invite our stakeholders, partners,
and the community to join us in this journey towards a more sustainable future. Your
feedback and ideas are valuable to us as we continually strive to improve our environmental
performance.
